I find Beyonce Knowles a great singer/performer and a fashion icon giving voluptuous women and even those with full-figures the reality that big is beautiful.
As a singer, she has a very distinctive voice which can reach high notes even on fast hip-hop beats. This was recognized by Cove magazine ranking Knowles seventh on their list of “The 100 Outstanding Pop Vocalists”, giving her 48 out of 50 points based on several criteria ranging from her vocal ability to range to harmony. Beyonce Knowles has received awards upon awards and topping numerous music charts worldwide for many of her songs and albums. I can confidently say she has surpassed her contemporaries. When fashion giant Miu Miu sent a pair of encrusted socks in strappy, high heeled Maryjane’s down their fall runway, you know there was going to be a feast for all the fashionista’s tuned in.
Born out of the shadows of fashion titan Prada, Miu Miu certainly has made a name for itself in the fashion industry. Their Fall 2009 collection showcased quintessential Parisian fashion with coat dresses and exposed nude colored brassieres. The brand also sent out dresses and coats made from what most people thought looked like upholstery fabric. The Miranda Warning or Miranda Rights are the rights of persons about to be arrested to be informed of the basic right of a person under custodial investigation, be it warrantless arrest or an arrest with a warrant issued by a judge. The Miranda Warning stem from the landmark decision of the United States of America Supreme Court in Miranda vs. Arizona, which considered the accused’ confession as inadmissible evidence because of the police’ failure to inform the arrested person of his right to have an attorney while under interrogation. Hence, Miranda vs. Arizona has been considered a landmark case in political law.
Here in the Philippines, we also observe the Miranda Warning but of a more severe standard than that of its US counterpart, in the sense that, Philippine laws require the written waiver of these rights to be made in the presence of a counsel of the accused’ own choosing, as stated in Section 12, Article III (Bill of Rights) of the 1987 Philippine Constitution; viz: continue reading...

Being one of the most prolific and famous literary writers of the 20th century, Neil Gaiman has certainly proved himself worthy of the title.
One recent novel American Gods has won praises from both the Hugo and the Nebula Awards. It showcases Gaiman’s spin on Americans themed work incorporated with fantasy and mythology at the same time.
The book starts with the main character, Shadow, being released from prison. He finds out that his wife is killed and he is offered a job by a puzzling stranger. Most of millions of Internet users out there have never enjoyed the real Internet, the version experienced by the select few who have high speed connections that is changing as wideband access becomes more widely available in homes through cable TV and digital subscriber link access. A 56K modem may soon appear as curious as a 300 baud acoustic coupler now seems.
Until wideband service becomes universally available, at least in urban and suburban areas, it will be a factor in real state transactions. Already, people who enjoy wideband service are very reluctant to move to an area where it is not yet available.
